Can a Christian Become Rich?

"For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also." Matthew 6:21
Some people think that being against Prosperity Theology means being against Christians becoming rich. Nothing could be further from the truth. Being against Prosperity Theology means being against Christians becoming rich dishonestly or sinfully; it means being against someone wanting to become rich while forgetting the salvation of their soul and family values. If you have a job or a business and, somehow, manage to become rich without losing biblical values, there is no problem.
For example, if you have a business and start deceiving people by selling them very bad products, people, due to lack of understanding and carelessness, end up buying your products. In that case, you will be putting your salvation at risk. You will be putting money above Jesus in your life. However, if you have a business and people love your products because they are good, there is no problem in you becoming rich selling them.
Another example would be a family man. A family man who works a good job and receives an excellent salary, but works seven days a week and never has time for his family, is also following the mindset of Prosperity Theology. He is only concerned with material prosperity. However, if he has a good job but makes time for his family, he is not doing anything wrong, even if it's a job where he earns 20,000, 30,000, 50,000, 100,000 or more.
As Jesus taught, the problem lies in the heart. Where your heart is, there your treasure will be also. If you don't forget the salvation of your soul and to care for your family, you can be both poor and rich and still please God. Another important point is not to despise the poor. Poor people can also be successful; when they work at what they love, when they develop a good ministry in the church, when they fulfill God's purpose in their lives, etc. There are many ways to be a successful person. Success isn't just about material things. Follow these biblical principles and you can become rich without any problem.
