What did Aristotle think about God?

What did Aristotle think about God?

"To the Lord your God belong the heavens, even the highest heavens, the earth and everything in it." Deuteronomy 10:14

Well, if you want to know something about God in a philosophical way and if you want to defend His existence, you need to understand the thought, at least a little, of the main sages of Greece: Socrates, Plato, and Aristotle. The last of them worked on an argument for the existence of God. He worked on the argument of the First Unmoved Mover. Aristotle, in his studies, observed that there is continuous movement in the universe.

For example, you exist because your parents begot you, and your parents exist because they were begotten by your grandparents, and so on. There will come a time when we will stop at the first man, who for the Bible was Adam. In the same way, it would be the universe. If we observe regressively, we would arrive at the First Unmoved Mover. Something that could not be caused by anything, but that would be the cause of everything, including the universe. For Aristotle, this cause would be... Immaterial, timeless, and intelligent.

This description closely resembles the God of the biblical Christian vision. The Christian God exists beyond matter and time and is an intelligent being. Furthermore, the Christian God is loving and benevolent, who proved his love through the coming of his Son, Jesus Christ, to die for us on the cross of Calvary. In Aristotle, this God is also the supreme good.

I hope you understood. May God bless your life and ministry.
